I can hardly believe that this will be our final pregnancy update - in T minus two weeks, God willing, we'll be holding J Bear in our arms! Here's where we're currently at:
Symptoms: I'm not quite sure how to word this one, ha! Let's just say that J is big, I am big and a horizontal position is currently the best solution to our conundrum.
Baby: We saw that little face again!! J still measures about two weeks ahead and weighed 3.4 kg at our 36-week sonar. K weighed 3.2 kg at birth (40+ weeks), so J will probably be quite a bit bigger than she was. Everything else is looking good - amazing grace!
Running: Walking really hurts right now, so we stopped our daily 2 km waddles at 36.5 weeks. Even trips to the shops, and especially our choice of parking lots and spots, are planned with surgical precision these days - a step saved during the day allows me to keep going for at least a minute longer come evening...
Weight gain: I'm up to just under 16 kg at 37 weeks. As you can see, I'm going for gold.
Food aversions/cravings: I just can't keep my hands off Will's sugary, sweet granola in the evenings... I'm quite positive that at least 2 of the above-mentioned 16 kilograms came courtesy of that darn granola.
You are looking FABULOUS! Any time now, Karien!! :) I remember hitting a point with my third where I went from running to not even being able to walk anymore- some nerve was being pinched or something like that.
ReplyDeleteYou sound so excited and looking forward to the joyful event. Best wishes for a speedy recovery - soon. :)
Thanks so much, Raina - I really appreciate it. Soooooo ready to meet my son and to start that recovery process!
DeleteNearly time for a new part of your life to begin. It is the best part of life I think.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more :) .
DeleteI am with Raina, you look fabulous!
ReplyDelete.... and another runner is coming.
Thanks, Stefano! Judging by his kicking, he's definitely a little runner ;) .
DeleteYou look GREAT!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Pamela!
DeleteWell even though all the comments say so, I will say it again...you look so good! And that sonogram picture is amazing...I haven't seen one since my sister was pregnant and that was before they had sonograms like that...technology has come a LONG way! Hope your countdown goes by fast! :]
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Hailey - you're all so kind! Pregnant mamas tend to just feel huge at this stage (or perhaps it's just me), so some kind encouragement REALLY means a lot!
DeleteAren't those sonars amazing?! These days you get 4D pictures of the little one right there in the doctor's office.
