Preggy Belly Update

I've had a few requests for a proper pregnancy update (bump pics and all) recently, so here goes.  We are currently 30 weeks and 5 days pregnant - can you believe how time has flown?!
The bump:  My bump is getting really, really beeg, and I love it!

Miss K:  Miss K weighs approximately 1.5 kg now and the doctor is very satisfied with her development.  Both the doctor and the midwife feels that she won't be a very big baby at birth and predicted her birth weight to be around 2.8 kg.  I love feeling her kicking and moving around and always giggle at how she seems to always get the hick-ups just after I've eaten watermelon!
Pregnancy "symptoms": I feel fantastic!  I haven't had heart burn once and I don't struggle to sleep at all.  The first 19-20 weeks of my pregnancy was a completely different story, though - I was sick as a dog for 24 hours each day.  But right now I'm loving every minute of being pregnant - I'm so thankful that things are going so well.  [I do get tired quite quickly, though, much to Will's delight when we go shopping ;) !].

Preparations: Will and I started working on Miss K's room this weekend. It still needs a lot of work, but we're getting there! We've also bought a really cool baby jogger and a beautiful antique, wooden cot. Friends and family have blessed us with so many beautiful baby gifts: Clothes, towels, blankets, burp cloths, toys and even a very good baby monitor.  I'm currently busy pre-washing all the clothes, towels and blankets - can't stop staring at all those tiny little items on the washing line!

Busy sorting and washing all the baby things.

We have, of course, also stocked up on diapers since the day we heard we were pregnant and currently sport a whole warehouse [or so it looks ;) ] full of the stuff. Something tells me, though, that we still don't have nearly enough...

Activity:  Sad to report that the height of my daily physical activity is a long walk with Will and the pups these days.  I haven't been one of the lucky ones who could continue running right up until their due dates or race a marathon at 39 weeks (?!), but I'm trying to see the bigger picture and use this down time for a complete recovery of an old ITB injury.  I seriously miss running, though, and can't wait to start training with renewed vigor once I get the go-ahead after Miss K's birth!

It's so amazing and sometimes still completely unreal to think that, in just a few short weeks, we'll be blessed with a new little family member to love, share our lives with and take care of.  I absolutely cannot wait to see that little face and hold that little body for the first time!

  1. Congrats! I was no longer running at 30 weeks either! I can't wait to see pictures of little Karli!

  2. Congratulations!! Enjoy the relaxation while you can before little Karli takes all that way from you. And your right, you dont have enough diapers ;-)

  3. Ooooh! You look so precious! Can't wait to see that sweet baby girl :)

  4. look at that bump!! Take the rest now, so you are energized when you need to be later ;)

I received my christmas card today YEA!
So excited to get it! And follow your blog. I try to blog 2-3 times a week when my big girl job does not interfer.

  6. You look great and looks and sounds like you are nearly ready for Karli ! Love her name! I didn't run much or at all when I was pregnant I hated the way it felt. Don't worry you will get back there!

  7. Karli, what a beautiful name!
