A Legendary Running Gadget {Product Review}

Let me just start off by saying that I'm not a big fan of running with my phone.  Phones are big and bulky and if your phone is anything like mine, it has pieces that are constantly falling off and going missing (don't ask).  Besides, I can track everything I need to track with my beloved purple GPS watch and listen to my running playlist on my good ol' (11 year-old) MP3-player.  Sorted.

But then the need arose to carry my phone on my body during a local, weekly running event that I help organise: I have to be easy to reach and be able to react quickly in case of an incident or emergency.  But where to stash the darn thing?  Enter the Legend Loop Armband.  It was as if Alex from Legend had read my mind: He reached out about trying out and reviewing Legend's new Loop Armband just as I started looking for an effective, hassle-free way to lug my phone along on runs - hooray!

Sceptical as I am about running with a phone, I was very impressed with the product that was delivered to my door: A durable, quality one-piece armband with a whole bunch of nifty little extra features, such as reflective detail and an additional key compartment.  I really liked it!

But for me the true test of the Loop Armband came in wearing it and running with it, because the last thing on earth I wanted was something that bounced around or kept on sliding down my (thin, girly) arms - ugh.  Big was my surprise then when I strapped on my phone and it stayed put - for an entire run.  It literally didn't budge!  Not sure if it was a fluke, I tried it again the next weekend, and the next, with exactly the same result.  So yip, I'm a big fan.

I did find, though, during a weird and very uncharacteristic "cold spell" in November in the Northern Cape, that the Loop does tend to slide down a bit when worn over a long sleeve top, which was a bit of a bummer.  But, all in all, I think it's a really great, quality product that I'd gladly recommend to running friends.

Legend Technologies is currently running a kick-starter campaign for this product until 23 December 2015 - you can go and support them here!
