Feeling good feels so good

It feels so good to feel good again!  After what felt like an eternity of dragging our sick carcasses (times four) around the house, we're finally feeling better - thank goodness!  I didn't run for eighteen whole days - this winter's flu sure is a whopper.  If you're one of the lucky ones who haven't had it yet, then take my advice: Don't get it!  Trust me - you'll want to avoid this one.      


  
Our timing was perfect: After two weekends of feeling under the weather (don't you just hate those?), we healed up just in time for Youth Day yesterday...  And, of course, it had to be run!  



The run felt like what could be expected after an 18-day hiatus - it sucked, haha!  I cruised a 5 km parkrun freedom run in 30 minutes on the dot - and it hurt.  Nothing like being back at square one, right?

For one crazy, fleeting moment I considered doing the Youth Day club time trial as well (it's so good to run again!), but fortunately common sense kicked in and convinced me that two-a-day was probably not a good idea after an 18-day lay-off.  So I scheduled a playgroup run for today instead.



It's gooooood to be back!

    1. Thanks, Lisa! Yikes, we were sooooo sick...! Nothing like feeling horrible to remind one what a blessing being healthy is. :)

  2. I'm so happy to hear that you and your family are feeling good again! It's bad enough when one person gets sick, but that's really rough to have the whole family sick! Enjoy your healthy runs! :)

    1. I can't even begin to tell you how good it feels to be healthy again, Hailey - we were sooooo sick, lol...! Running again feels incredible!! :)
