Things you'll do as a mom runner

If you're a mom runner with toddlers, it's only a matter of time before you'll do one or all of the following:

1.  Get dizzy in an attempt to run, breathe, steer a double jogging stroller and belt out "Twinkle, twinkle little star" all at the same time.

2.  Go for a run in your husband's underpants, because it's the only piece of clean underwear in the entire household.

3.  Run with poop on your shirt.

Poop on my white shirt - yay!

4.  Hide behind the jogging stroller to sneak a few sips from your youngest's sippy cup, because you've forgotten your water bottle at home.  Again.

5.  Clock a new PR in an attempt to finish a run/race before your two double stroller passengers kill each other.

6.  Abandon a run/race for the sake of love, peace and sanity for all.

Sometimes an abandoned run is the best run.

7.  Spend more time and effort preparing for a run than you actually spend running.

8.  Go from being an early-morning runner to being a lunchtime runner to being a late-evening runner - all in the same week.

9.  Keep going back for more - and loving it! - despite Points 1 to 8 above.

Happy running, everyone!

  1. The life of a #motherrunner! It's so true and I'd say most of us wouldn't change a thing. Well, maybe the poop on the shirt part, but still...

    1. Sippy cups are just waaaaaay too small, heehee! :)

Thanks so much for the kind words, Hailey - I really appreciate it. Sometimes things can get a bit chaotic and trust me, then you feel anything but amazing... But I often find that the chaos also provides the best laughs - if you let it...! x

    1. Sometimes, especially during a (bad) run, I ask myself why on earth I keep doing it, Lisa. But then I don't run for a week or two and I remember all too well why I do, haha! I'm Queen of the Grumpy Moms when I don't!
