It's going to be a long eleven days...

Remember how I pestered you for votes for the 2014 Big Blog Exchange?  And how I explained (see post here) that running the world is my dream and that being one of the 16 winners of the Big Blog Exchange would help me achieve it?  Well, I have some amazing news: I'm a finalist!

[Source.]

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every, single vote.  I'm painfully aware of the fact that we're all bombarded by pleas for votes for anything from baby photo contests to Bride-of-the-Year awards on a daily basis, so taking the time to support my dream truly means a lot.  Thank you also to every person who shared my pleas on their social media channels - seeing and knowing that friends and family support my crazy dreams has been a major highlight of the competition for me so far.

Dreams are so much more fun with the support of friends and family!

Another highlight has been meeting new blogging friends from around the globe - Malaysia, Norway, Argentina, Ireland, India, Singapore and the Philippines...  So exciting!  Experiencing support and positivity from all of them has been incredible; swapping countries with one of them will be the icing on the cake!

So, what happens now?  Well, an international jury is busy evaluating each of the 100 finalists as we speak and will announce the 16 winners, who will swap countries and blogs for 10 days, on 16 September 2014.  I can tell you one thing: It's going to be a loooooong eleven days of waiting...!  I'll keep you updated, but in the meantime - please hold thumbs?

  2. That's amazing! Congratulations!!! I may or may not have just Googled what "hold thumbs" mean ;) It's our equivalent of "cross our fingers!" I love learning how different countries have the similar sayings but different ways of saying them :) I wish you the very BEST (and A LOT of patience) for these next eleven days!! :)

    1. Thanks so much, Hailey - eeeeeeeeek! :)

Haha, I sometimes forget that our idioms and expressions aren't universal... But, as you say, it's so interesting to learn how things are said differently in other parts of the world! (And how much they love pumpkin in fall, heehee...!)

    1. Vince, you're driving me nuts...! (In a good way, haha!) Fortunately things are quite busy on my side with work and the kids and preparing for a race, so time is actually ticking by quite quickly! Almost there...!
