The More The Merrier

This weekend K, Baby J and I clocked our longest run to date with the double stroller - just over 5 km, whoop!  This may not seem very far or like a very big deal to all the 100 km-a-week running machines out there, but trust me, for this mom-with-a-mental-block it's huge.  And every single time I venture out for a run with both kids I return wondering why on earth I was so hesitant to do so in the first place - the three of us have only had awesome runs together.  Not even once had there been crying, meltdowns or even feeding breaks...  So relax a little, why don't you, Mama?!  It's definitely time for that mental block to go.

Gettin' ready.

I'm so thrilled that we've now reached a distance that will allow the three of us to race together or do parkruns together - come on, Summer!  (Not that I'm anywhere near clocking a good 5 km time with the fully loaded double stroller - yikes, it's heavy...!  But it will definitely be loads of fun.)

I'm also thrilled that both kids enjoy the stroller and running - especially K is so excited about the fact that her brother is now joining us on our runs more often.  I love how she holds his hand and talks to him during our runs: "Look, Brother Bear, there's M (our nanny)'s bus!"; and "We're going back home now, Brother Bear!" when we reach our turning point to head back home.  Ahhhhh, I just love them to bits.

Have a blessed, healthy week, everyone!

Did you have any active adventures this weekend?  Please share!

  1. Yay that is exciting news! I used to wait until about nap time and then take the kids out in the double stroller, I think the farthest I went was 4 or 5 miles. It is a lot more work pushing the stroller but so worth it!

    1. I also don't think I'll go further than 10 kays with the double stroller - don't want the kids to get uncomfortable and stop enjoying it. LOVE running with them!

  2. That is great and I'm sure it will make you strong as well. I had to keep a low profile this weekend with this stupid cough that just doesn't want to let up... :( I watched the TDF while resting and that was good.

  3. Awesome!! Mental blocks are so funny. I mean, we almost always feel better after going out for the run, but each time we convince ourselves that it's going to be terrible. Silly us.
