A Brand New Look

If you've been following our adventures for a while now, you'll notice a fun change on the blog today: A brand new look!  I wanted to change the old header in order to give it a bit more of a South African feel, plus, of course, to include Baby J and I'm thrilled with the way it turned out.  Hope you like it too!

The illustration for the new header was done by Heidel Dedekind of Heidekind Illustrations - love her work!  Heidel somehow took my very non-artistic, logical left-brained ideas and transformed them into exactly what I wanted and so much more: Her illustration perfectly captures the character of our family and is so uniquely South African.  I love it.

Thanks for following our journey - here's to many more adventures!

    1. Thanks, Gordon. The hoopoe was Heidel's (the artist's) idea - I love how she incorporated small details like that to make the illustration say "Africa" :) .

    1. Thanks, Lisa! No better way to say "South Africa" than by putting Table Mountain in the background, right? That was also Heidel's brilliant idea :) .

    1. Thanks, Raina! I strongly recommend Heidel if you ever really consider an illustration of your own family. And the best part is that everything is done online, so your location won't be a problem even though she's based in SA :) .
