Bring It

On Monday I officially got the green light from my doctor to start running again after pregnancy and giving birth.  Selah.

Now, despite having the reputation of being the cheapest, most convenient form of exercise out there, running has, in my opinion, one major drawback: It's darn hard to get into.  Running is very hard until it's easy.  Wait, who am I kidding?  It actually sucks until it's easy.  And that's where I am now: Getting back into it.

My first post-partum run went exactly as can be expected: My legs felt funny; my new mama physique jiggled; and I developed a side stitch in three minutes flat.  But I ran.  And man, that felt good.

So now I'm officially one run closer to going from "this sucks" to "wow, this is awesome".  BRING IT!

  3. So happy that you got the green light to run now! I love the way you put that...I'm in the "this sucks, why is this so hard?" phase too, but you are so right, every run is one run closer to being an AWESOME run. And whether it sucks or it's easy, the best part is being able to run! =] Can't wait to hear about your progress!
