Will ran a 5 k! (And I did a backflip.) True story.

If someone were to ask me who (past or present) I would most like to run a race with, I wouldn't even hesitate for a second before answering.  A lot of people would get all philosophical and say "the Pope" or "Nelson Mandela" or "Oprah", but not me.  Nope.  My dream racing partner lives a lot closer to home: Will (my husband)!  Can it get any better than pursuing one of your passions with the love of your life?!  I think not.

The dream team :) .

Will has been toying with the idea of using running as supplementary training for his cycling for a while now (with zero nudging from my side, promise), but somehow it has always ended up getting lost in the intensity of final cycling goal race preparations.  But not this year: He started running during the off season and kept at it and today, three months later, he completed his first non-stop 5 k run since varsity days!!  Gooooooo Will!

Stats include his (walking) warm-up and cooldown.

Sadly I'm unable to run a 5 k race with him right now (I'm 27 weeks pregnant today!), but keep an eye out for the two of us (and perhaps the kids in a jogger?) early next year - I absolutely can't wait!

Who's your dream racing/running partner?

  1. I wish my husband would run with me, he used to a little bit, but now doesn't at all.

    Congrats to your husband!

  3. Great post! I have never run with my wife ... she goes swimming and doesn't like running. But she sometimes is waiting for me close to the finish line :)
    Have a nice weekend!

    1. Thanks, Giorgio! I think that having loved ones waiting for you at the finish line comes a very close second to them actually running with you - nothing like seeing those smiling faces after a race! :)
