Highlands Trout Mountain Challenge 2013

Only ten days to go before my first post-baby half-marathon: The Highlands Trout Mountain Challenge in Lesotho!

I recently had a look at the race description on the official website again, and now realize that I might have been a tad overzealous when I entered...  The race takes place at high altitude (between 2000 and 2500 m above sea level) in the Maluti Mountains and is described as "...possibly one of the toughest races in the world and the highest in Africa...".  Oh, my.  Fortunately Will and Baby Girl has solemnly promised that they will cheer their hearts out, even if I'm dead last and they have to wait for me at the finish line for five hours.

Only one long run and a taper week to go...!

  1. Awesome! Running in those mountains are worth the lack of air. All the best with your final prep and enjoy!
