This morning Baby Girl and I tackled our longest stroller run to date: 14 kilometers. Our POA was simple: To keep things slooooow and eeeeasy. I read this week (see the article here) that one of the biggest mistakes that runners make, is not running slow enough during long runs and not running fast enough during shorter runs... Well, guilty as charged. So today we set out with the aim of taking it sloooow.
In the end our logistics couldn't have worked out better: Baby Girl woke up at 05:00 a.m. and we could get an early start (she usually sleeps until after six); it was nice and cool outside; and I had a good night's sleep. I was a bit worried that my little running buddy would get fussy during the run, seeing that it would be our longest run to date, but she was such a little champ! She asked for her bottle about half-way, so we both had a refueling stop, but other than that she didn't even fuss once. Phew!
Our run went amazingly well in all departments: No niggles; no feeling like we couldn't keep going; and Baby Girl happily chatting away and napping. It was just one of those perfect runs, you know? We also stuck to our POA religiously: We took is really easy. Mission accomplished!
Will raced this morning, so after our run we quickly showered and got ready to go and meet him at the finish line. He did so well - Baby Girl and I are two very proud ladies :) !
What a lovely day. So thankful for every good and perfect gift that comes from Above!
