Recce Run

One of the first things we love doing after moving into a new neighbourhood (right after hanging the curtains, that is), is go for a recce run.  What better way to explore new territory than on foot?  Unfortunately Baby Girl and I had to postpone our exploring for a few days this time on account of trying our best to avoid catching Will's flu.  But today we finally deemed it safe to come out of quarantine and we went exploring!

Just before our run.  "Take the picture already and get me out of this sun, Mom!"

Unfortunately our recce run coincided with peak traffic (smart move, Mom), but we had a blast anyway.  Unlike our old neighbourhood, this one has loads of running route options starting right at our front gate - love!

We already love our new home and neighbourhood (did I mention that the grocery store is just a block away?) - can't wait to log some serious miles here!

  1. Sounds like you've moved to a very nice place, and here's wishing you every happiness there. It's great when you can run straight from your door and I'm sure you'll soon be taking full advantage of that - just like I do. Enjoy!

  4. Glad to hear there are great places to run right outside your door. I have never heard of a recce run before. What does that mean?

  5. Hi Christy! Recce is military slang for reconnaissance, i.e. visually observing a target before a big operation. So our recce run was pretty much checking out our new "target" (neighbourhood) before seriously starting to train there :) . Hope Cola's doing better! x
