This morning we participated in our very first sporting event as a family! (Getting to the event on time was actually a sporting event in itself, but that is a story for another day.) Free State Autism hosted a 2 km and 5 km fun walk to create awareness about autism, and we were there!
After an epic effort to get to the starting line on time, someone needed a little top-up before the start...
It was a cool, clear, sunny day in Bloemfontein. The walk started out on tarred roads, but soon led us into a private game farm, where the largest part of the walk took place.
What a perfect, peaceful morning. The route went through a Blue Gum forest...
... crossed dry stream banks...
... and the three of us had a ball.
Each participant received a hot dog and juice after the walk, which soon turned into one, big family picnic at the finish line.
What a lovely, fun morning with my gorgeous little family!
Sounds like a perfect family outing. What beautiful scenery!
